Past Horses

Faberge (2018-2021)

Owned by Emma and Paul Weel.

Proudly owned by Emma and Paul Weel, Nicole enjoyed 3 years of caring for, and training Faberge (aka Feelix), a 16 hand Westphalian gelding, by Feedback, out of a Rhodiamont mare.

In their first season of competition, Faberge and Nicole won Novice Championships at the QDR Dressage Championships, the Park Ridge Regional Championships and won the QLD State Preliminary and Novice Championships, with scores up to 78%.

Faberge was sold to Louise Barton in April 2021 to start a new career in the Show Ring, and we look forward to seeing him shine in this arena.

Regalo (2018-2020)

Proudly owned by Karin and Tim Gordon, Nicole enjoyed 2 years of caring for, and training Regalo, a 17 hand Australian Warmblood gelding, by Cildara Conquest, out of a Rubinstein mare.

In their first season of competition, Regalo and Nicole won 6 Regional Preliminary and Novice Championships and won QLD State Novice Champion. He was awarded QLD Newcomer Horse of the Year and was selected on QLD’s State Talent Squad. In his 2nd year of competition, Regalo won 5 Regional Elementary and Medium Championships and was QLD State Reserve Elementary Champion on a count back and was again selected on QLD’s State Talent Squad.

Regalo was sold to a lovely home south of Canberra in February 2020, and we look forward to seeing him in competition with his new owner.

VooDoo (2017-2019)

Colin and Nicole purchased VooDoo as a just broken-in 3 year old colt in The Netherlands in November 2017. Importing him to Australia in Feburary 2018, he was gelded and commenced his first year under saddle. Matthew Lord campaigned VooDoo in his debut competition year, and won many Preliminary and Novice Championships, including QLD State Novice Champion and earned selection on the QLD State Talent Squad.

Bringing VooDoo (aka Spekkie) home in October 2018, Nicole enjoyed her time with her beloved boy, winning Novice Championships at PRARG **, Samford * and Brenda Wittman ** Championships with scores up to 78%.

VooDoo was sold to the Puddle family in June 2019, where he is much loved and adored. Nicole and Colin look forward to being part of their journey.

Furst Tyme (2009-2016)

On a horse shopping trip to Germany for the Dowsett family in 2008, Linda Dowsett and I were shown 2 year old unbroken colt, Finnegan, at Leonie Brammal and Volker Dusche's training barn, and we instantly fell in love with him. With a very impressive pedigree on both sides (Furst Heinrich/Donnerhall/Hohenstein), Finnegan was imported in October 2008, and went to Toowoomba for semen collection until he turned 3 years. He was then gelded, broken in, and came to Nicole in May 2009, to start his dressage training.

As a 3 year old, Finnegan (aka Furst Tyme) could be spooky, but had a great work ethic and a good 'go' button.During their first year of competition together in 2010, Nicole and Finn did 22 tests for 22 wins, never scoring under 70%, with his highest score at the NSW State Championships for 84% in the Preliminary 1C. In 2010, Furst Tyme won the QLD State Preliminary and Novice Championship titles, and the QLD Newcomer and Novice Horse of the Year awards. The following year, he won the QLD State Elementary Championship title, the QLD Elementary HOTY, and the Australian Reserve National Elementary Championship. In every year since, he won every State Championship title to Medium Tour, including another Australian Reserve Championship title at Medium level, and every HOTY award from Newcomer to Medium Tour, culminating in the QLD FEI Horse of the Year in 2015 at age 9. He also won his first Grand Prix with 68% from International Judge, Mary Seefried.

In their time together, Nicole and Finn have been on 7 QLD State Squads, 4 National Squads and won 4 National Performance Gold Medals at Medium, Advanced, Small and Medium Tour levels.

In 2016, having reached Grand Prix at age 10 years, Nicole made the heartbreaking decision to sell her beloved Finnegan to finance the purchase of 2 youngsters from Europe to start again on. For Finnegan, a lovely young rider in Melbourne, took up his reins, and what better way for a Grand Prix horse to enjoy his next chapter, but to teach a young rider all he knows. He will be forever loved and remembered by Nicole and Colin.

Borsato (2013-2016)

On a training trip to The Netherlands in 2013, good friend, Traci Bolt and I were lucky enough to train with Dutch Federal trainer, Annemieke Vincourt. As an exciting addition to the trip, Traci purchased and imported 6 year old KWPN gelding, Borsato (UB40/Flemmingh), for Nicole to care for, train and campaign.

In their first year of competition, Nicole and Borsato won 2 National Performance Gold Medals with 7 tests over 70%, won QLD Medium and Advanced Horse of the Year titles, and was QLD State Medium and State Advanced Champion, and was selected on the QLD State and National Futures Squad.

In their second year of competition, despite not being entirely ready, they won QLD Small Tour Horse of the Year, QLD State Small Tour Champion, placed 2nd in the Australian Intermediate 1 Championship, and was selected on the QLD Elite Squad and re-selected on the National Futures Squad.

In 2016, they again earned a National Performance Gold Medal with 6 scores over 70%, and won regional Small Tour Championships at PRARG, Towoomba and Caboolture; won Brisbane CDI Small Tour Champion and Tournament Champion, QLD State Small Tour Champion and Tournament Champion and again won QLD Small Tour Horse of the Year.

Sadly for Nicole, the 2016 QLD State Championships was her last competition with Borsato. His very generous owner, Traci, decided get back in the saddle after a long illness, and enjoy all that Boss could teach her.

Nicole says - "From Borsato's first test at Caboolture in March 2014, to his last test with me, at the 2016 QLD State Championships, he always gave me his all. Words cannot express my eternal gratitude to Traci, for entrusting Boss' care and training to me. I never saw Boss' arrival in my life and I will never regret a moment of my time with him. We got to work with some amazing coaches, Annemieke Vincourt, Jaimie Amian, Bjarne Elefsen, Lilo Fore - and not to mention Charlotte Dujardin at Equitana 2014. All who have worked with him have expressed what a wonderful athlete he is. Borsato - beautiful boy, you enriched my life, taught me heaps and I will miss you every day. Much love, from your trainer and friend October 2013 - September 2016".

Dante (2008-2014)

On the same horse shopping trip to Germany in 2008 for the Dowsett Family, Robert Schmerglatt helped Linda and Nicole to find 5 year old Dante (Depardieu/Schmiel). Nicole trained Dante from Elementary to Grand Prix, and they had a very special bond with many wonderful achievements including; 5 State Championship titles, and 3 Australian National Championship titles, and selection on the QLD State Elite and National Futures Squads in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Nicole and Dante won their first 2 Grand Prix tests, before his owners exported him back to Germany to be sold. Dante now resides in Switzerland and is well and truly loved by his new owner. Dante will forever be remembered as one of Nicole's favourite horses.

Fioretta (2013-015)

Nicole started training 6 year old Fioretta (Florestan/Sandro Hit) for her owner Traci Bolt, in August 2012, to prepare her for the last few competitions of the season. After an attitude adjustment that took a few months, Fioretta proved to be a very talented and trainable horse. Due to health reasons, Traci offered Fioretta to Nicole and Colin to buy, and they just at the chance. With an eagerness to work and a big opinion of herself, Fioretta was immense fun to train, and from 2013-2015, they achieved some great results together including a National Performance Gold Medal at Medium level, 2 QLD State Championship titles, and twice selectied on the QLD State and National Futures Squads. The discovery of a bone chip in late 2015 saw Fioretta's purchase and retirement to Remi Stud, where in October 2016, she gave birth to a beautiful colt by Champion Grand Prix stallion, Lauries As.

Flavio (2009-2012)

On the same horse shopping trip to Germany in 2008 for the Dowsett family, Robert Schmerglatt helped us to find 4 year old Flavio (Florestan/Donnerhall). Flavio was ALL talent and personality. Nicole and Flavio had a wonderful partnership with excellent results including 3 Australian National Championship titles, 5 QLD State Championship titles, 3 National Performance Gold Medals, 4 QLD Horse of the Year Awards, and muli selection on QLD State and National Futures Squads. At the conclusion of their 2012 season, Nicole informed the Dowsett's that she didn't think she was the rider to take Flavio to FEI, and with much heartbreak, recommended Matthew Dowsley to take the ride. in 2013, Matthew and Flavio went on to win the Australian Prix St George Challenge, the Australian Prix St George, and Sydney CDI PSG CDN. Flavio was exported back in Germany in 2014, to be sold, and now resides in Florida where he competes Grand Prix.
Other past horses, Nicole and Colin purchased as unbroken youngsters, with Nicole training them on to FEI, with many State and National Championship titles to her credit, and all making it onto QLD State Squads:

Glencoe Manhattan
Cherenton Armani
Glencoe Catwalk
Northern Flamenco

All of these beautiful horses, Nicole and Colin will always cherish with much love and wonderful memories.
